From small cuts to deeper wounds, our doctors provide timely, precise repairs to promote proper healing and minimize scarring.

Do You Need Stitches or Medical Attention?

Laceration and stitches Go Medical Clinic

Minor cuts can often heal on their own, but deeper or wider wounds may need professional closure.

At Go Medical, our physicians assess your injury and determine whether it requires sutures, skin adhesive, or steri-strips to ensure the best cosmetic and functional outcome.

Common reasons to seek care:

  • Deep cuts

  • Edges of the wound won’t stay closed

  • Persistent bleeding longer than 10 minutes

  • Visible fat, muscle, or bone

  • Injury from dirty or rusty objects

FAQ's
Laceration Repair

Can I get stitches at Go Medical instead of going to the ER?

Yes. For non-life-threatening cuts, Go Medical offers fast, professional laceration repair at our partner clinics across Winnipeg. You’ll see an experienced doctor without waiting hours in the ER.

Does Go Medical use glue or stitches?

Yes. Depending on the cut, we may use medical-grade skin adhesive instead of traditional stitches. It works well for smaller, clean wounds and often leaves minimal scarring.

How long after a cut is it too late for stitches?

We recommend coming in within 6 to 8 hours of injury. In some cases, wounds can still be safely closed up to 24 hours later. If you’re unsure, book or call us and we’ll let you know if treatment is still appropriate.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

We mostly work by appointment so you’re seen quickly and avoid long waits. Some clinics do accept walk-ins, but booking online or by phone is the best way to guarantee care.

Will my cut heal without stitches?

Some small cuts can heal on their own if kept clean and closed. Deeper or wider wounds may heal poorly or scar more without proper repair. Our doctors can check your injury and advise on the best approach.

Where will my appointment take place?

When you book, we match you with a Go Medical partner clinic near you. This model brings skilled care closer to where you live, so there’s no need to travel far.
